Welcome to the St. Zachary music page where you may find out information about our Music Ministry.  St. Zachary is blessed to have musicians who love to praise, worship, and thank God through His gift of music.  To find out more information please contact Mary-Esther Caldrone, the Music Director at m.caldrone@comcast.net or 847-956-7020 x32. Thank you to Tony Camacho for his donation to the St. Zachary Resurection Choir in memory of our dear Bernie Delaney who just passed away.  We are grate ful to Tony for your his donation and to the Delaney family for their support of Music Ministry at St. Zachary and for sharing Bernie with us.  We will miss Bernie's presence among us but we Thank God for his faithfulness and fellowship. 

Thank you to our St. Zachary musicians who not only take time out of their busy lives to praise and thank God with music every week but are a family to me and to each other with their generosity of Christian friendship, faithfulness, and fellowship.

1. FAMILY CHOIR:  The Family Choir is called the Family Choir because they sing at the "Family Mass" at 10 AM. This mass is the only mass without the organ. It is a contemporary choir with drums, guitars, and any other instruments available. It is also considered a "drop-in" choir that lets you "drop-in" and sing with us as your schedule permits.  You may join any time throughout the year.  Come join us! Practice: The Family Choir practices at 9AM on Sunday in the Music Room and sings at the 10AM "Family" Mass. EASY!   **See Schedule at bottom of page.**
2. TRADITIONAL CHOIR: THE TRADITIONAL CHOIR IS LOOKING FOR MEN AND WOMEN TO JOIN US AT THE 11:30AM MASS!  The Traditional Choir is open to anyone interested in singing various genres of music. Practice: The Traditional Choir practices Thursday evenings from 7:30PM – 9:30PM in the church beginning the 1st Thursday after Labor Day, September 8, 2011. **See Schedule at bottom of page.**        
3. KIDS CHOIR: The Kids Choir sings once a month at Mass. They also sing for Holidays and special events. All children grades 1-8 in the parish are encouraged to join this choir!  You may join this choir ANY TIME throughout the school year so if you're busy now and want to join in a few months please feel free to join us as the year goes on! Practice: The Kids Choir practices most WEDNESDAYS from 5:45PM-6:45PM in the music room beginning September 21, 2011.**See Schedule at bottom of page.**                             
4. CANTORS:                                                                                                        Cantors lead music and encourage singing during the mass. The cantor must have skill in singing, leading worship, feeling comfortable reading and singing in front of others, and lastly the desire to Praise God through their voice. Cantors sing at various Masses every weekend.    
   Practice: The Cantors only meet as needed and practice on their own time. Next practice is Wednesday, October 26th at 7:30pm in the music room. 
5. RESURRECTION CHOIR/FUNERAL CHOIR   Ages 18 and up. The Resurrection Choir is open to anyone available to sing for Funerals which usually occur in the morning. We call you with the day of the funeral and if you are free please come join us.  You do not have to be available every morning of the week.  Come sing when you are available. This choir is a real blessing to our parish. Anyone available in the morning is encouraged to join.  Funerals are at 10AM with practice for the funeral at 9:30AM.
6. HANDBELLS:                                                                                                    WE NEED MORE RINGERS!!!!  Please contact Gail at 847-732-1736 or Mary-Esther Caldrone at 847-957-7020.  Want to try something new please consider joining the Handbell Choir. We will teach you how to ring Handbells.  It is quite fun!
   Practice: 1st practice is Monday, September 12th at 7pm.  Future practice times will be determined then so please attend this meeting to have your voice heard for setting practice times so as not to interefere with other activities going on in the church.   .
7. WEDDING COORDINATOR:  A wedding coordinator helps the engaged couple with their wedding at St. Zachary. They help coordinate the Rehearsal and is present at the church before, during, and after the wedding. 8. WEDDDINGS:                                                                                              Please contact Mary-Esther Caldrone for more information regarding music for your wedding at St. Zachary parish at m.caldrone@comcast.net.  The next Music Planning Session is Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the church.  Please contact Mary-Esther for more details.
9. LITURGICAL DANCE: This group is comprised of girls in grades 5-8. No dance experience needed. The Liturgical Dance group dances once a month at mass and for Holidays and special events. For more information about this group please contact Angela Lucchesi-Wundsam at 847-439-8015 or via e-mail at Amleducate@aol.com.

Dear God we pray to you to help us, as to you your praise we sing!  We lift our hearts in joyous song to honor you this way, and while we sing, remembering, to sing is to doubly pray.  In our hearts and on our tongues we offer double prayer, sent heavenward on winged notes to praise God dwelling there.  While in our hearts and tongues we try, with song to Praise God twice, we ask dear God to help us be united close to Christ!  St. Cecilia..pray for us, St. Zachary... Pray for us, St. Jude..Pray for us, St. Savio...Pray for us, St. Mary...pray for us!
